Shiz To Shovel..📝

Hey, Hi, Hello and welcome back to episode 13397 of 'Comparison is the thief of joy!'.

Now, I am fully aware we have all read endless captions about how comparing yourself to others online is not the answer, and I say 'we' as I am right there with you with a big fat 'easier said then done hun' face.. but we read them on a caption, online, probably under a phot of someone we compare ourselves to.. so.. call the counterproductive cops. ☎️

Let's be honest here.

We are living in social media mania. We live in the thick of it, with little escape and freedom from someone to compare ourselves to.

This is not an opportunity to blame the society/world we live in and go with that flow.

This is about YOU. This is about US.

Let me give you a simple situation;

Everytime that Mary eats chicken, she gets a very sick stomach and suffers for days with said sick stomach.

Now.. what advice would we give poor Mary here?

Don't eat chicken Mary.

Yes, chicken may look appealing at times to you Mary, it may taste very tasty and make you feel great at the time when you are eating it.. but you KNOW how you are going to feel afterward. So save yourself the suffering.

That was easy to follow, understand and rectify now wasn't it???

Well..

Let us see if this rings a bell;

Mary spends many hours a day in total on her phone, on social media apps looking at pictures of other people who are really motivated to work out each day, with lots of energy and what society deems as being in great shape. She spends time looking at people with amazing, glowing skin who have an outstanding make-up and fashion sense. She spends time looking at couples in relationships who have very cute photos with captions declaring their undying love for each other. She sees big groups of friends hanging out and enjoying each other's company with carefree and confident attitudes. She sees people buying their first house, creating their own business.. or babies,

After Mary spends her time at this, she is left feeling inadequate, insecure, lonely, lazy, unaccomplished, unworthy and heartbroken.

To quote above: "Now.. what advice would we give poor Mary here?"

If Instagram is your chicken..

The ill stomach is your ill mental health/mindset..

Stop eating that chicken people.

DISCLAIMER** Harsh comments to follow but are said with love and intent to better your life..

If you feel any of the emotions above, because you are comparing yourself to other people's journey, how can this be solved? Everyone stops exercising or building houses because it upsets you too much?! NO.

You have got to work on your abilities to congratulate others and be happy for their successes, compassionate for their falls whilst still being content and happy with the LOVELY, SCENIC AND PERFECT PATH on which you walk in this life.

Everybody, EVERY SINGLE BODY, has got their own shizz to shovel. If anything, I think it's a lovely sentiment that connects all of humanity. All on a path, sometimes it's clear and sunny, sometimes there's 3 miles of dirt and we have no wellies.. sometimes our paths will cross and we help each other through the mud, sometimes we have to get through it all on our lonesome.

Take Home;

Embrace your own pace.

Clap for yourself, Clap for each other.

Look after yourself, Look after each other.
