Do you ever find yourself snapping at someone for no reason?

Do you ever find yourself in a situation where someone is taking out their anger on you?

Do you have trouble recognising why you did allow something you make you really angry?

Anger is an emotion that can often be expressed in a knee-jerk, impulsive way - as a result of fears and expectations below the surface. 🔍🔍

It is much easier to reflect and explore why you felt angry or expressed your anger in a certain way after you have cooled down and are not in that height of emotion anymore. ❄️

One of the biggest issues is that we do not express our feelings as soon as we can, we bury them and allow them to fester and bubble 🛁 up inside of us - this results in the anger being expressed in a very intense way.

It can result in arguments and fall-outs that did not need to happen.

What is most helpful here is to identify the trigger when it occurs, and straight away say to the person who has upset or annoyed you ‘I feel.. sad/upset/frustrated by..’

State the emotion you feel, and back it up with your thoughts about that.

60 seconds could turn what would have been an explosive argument down the road.. into a little chat about what that person can avoid saying or doing in the future to not upset or anger you.

If you are having trouble recognising or identifying why you have a lot of anger inside you, it would be so helpful to speak to a counsellor so that they can facilitate your journey to discovering why you feel that way.

If you couldn’t figure out why you had a headache you would go to the GP - so if you can’t figure out why you are experiencing a certain emotion, book a session with a counsellor. 🗓
